2007 Toyota Yaris
Small car with big results
Toyota presents Yaris, the long awaited fuel efficient and minimal car with a low sticker price. It’s a true value for the price tag, for the same reason it was amongst the best selling cars in Europe.

The Yaris is sporty in style, peppy in city and innocent on the highways. The Yaris hatchback and the subcompact sedan share the same 1.5 liter engine and have an array of features to offer. The seats are designed to adjust according to the desired comfort; the interior and dash have been designed separately for both the models.

Plenty of power for its weight
The Yaris fleet is driven by a front-wheel with a 1.5- liter In-line 4 engine. For a small car of this magnitude the 106 horse power is plenty. Power is transmitted through a standard 5-speed manual and an optional four-speed automatic transmission.

The Yaris is fuel efficient, with the manual gearbox it makes 34/40 mpg city/highway; the automatic also makes almost the same distance per gallon.

Gorgeous looks
It’s small, cute and looks sporty too. A distinctive design with a forward-leaning cue, the cute car is vibrant too. In the US Yaris hatch is sold with three doors inclusive of the rear liftgate and the sedan has four doors.

The hatch is curvy and stout with the uniquely designed window sloping forward. The black trimmed B-pillar blends the tinted windows, making the window panel look one piece. The wheel wells accommodate the 14-inch tires well. The wraparound taillight is another unique design element with three sharp corners and the fourth is rounded.

The frontal of the car is where the design team has worked a lot on; the huge wedgy headlight, which extends from the bumper to the windshield, incorporates turnlamp. The crease on the hood extends till the bumper that holds the wing shaped grille.

The sedan also shares the same philosophy; the wing shaped grille has fins with the Toyota badge on it. The crease on the hood extends till the bumper which has a huge airdam and makes the bumper look small. The vibrant design makes the Yaris one of the gorgeous in the class.

Standard features include the SBRP175/65R14 all-season tires, compact spare tire, steel wheels, dual color-keyed manually adjustable exterior rearview mirrors, driver and passenger vanity mirror, tinted glass, infrared glass, intermittent windshield wipers and front and rear bumpers.

Comfortable and upmarket interiors
The all new Yaris has a comfortable seating and upscale upholstery. The dash of the sedan and the hatch differ in styling. It is to keep the exterior styling in sync with the interior. The gauge panel is located on the centre console, a new concept to reduce the driver’s distraction. The cabin is quite spacious with more head room plus the seats are upright and adjustable with classy fabric.

The sedan's front seats also feature a height adjustment feature, which helps the driver find a more comfortable position. Cargo space in the liftback with the seats upright is 12.8 cubic feet; the sedan's cargo volume is 12.9 cubic feet. Standard features include radio antenna, manual air conditioning and carpet located in passenger cabin.

Good for city traffic and highway cruising
For those looking for an environment friendly car, the Yaris is the apt choice. It’s not just an entry-level car with entry-level features; it has plenty of power for its weight.

Its rear drum brakes have good stopping power. Toyota has used lot of anti noise material in the construction of this rigid structure. The shifting is flawlessly smooth and properly placed, delivering power in the entire rev line. The 4-speed automatic presents the first gated shifter in class. The car is good at city traffic and highway cruising.

The Yaris gets the electric assist steering, with good response and reduces weight of the car considerably. Its suspension is stiff for a comfortable ride.

Small car with plenty of safety features
A small car doesn’t mean less of safety features; it has plenty including front seatbelt pretensioners, plus three-point seatbelts, head restraints for all five passengers, dual-stage driver and front passenger airbags. Anti-lock Brake System is optional for both the models.

Other standard features include front passenger and rear automatic locking retractors, driver airbag with dual stage deployment, passenger airbag cutoff sensor activated by weight, passenger airbag with dual stage deployment, front and rear crumple zones, front and rear outboard 3-point seatbelts, front pretensioners with force limiters and side impact door beams.
